Department: Post Frame Buildings OR Steel Frame Buildings
Reports To: Crew Foreman
Location: Various locations in Iowa including New Sharon, West Des Moines and Cedar Rapids/Iowa City

Preferred Experience: Post Frame Buildings, Steel Frame Buildings, Carpentry, Wood Framing/Finishing, Drywall. Any or all experience will be helpful in becoming the successful candidate for this position
BASIC JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY: Works as a crew member of a wood/post frame crew or a steel erection crew..
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include having demonstrated being a solid worker, positive attitude, use time wisely and effectively and be an effective part of our .
Follows directions from Crew Foreman in the inspection of blue prints and/or plans and site conditions to verify conformance to specifications and assists in the setup of equipment, squaring & layouts and the construction of various types of agricultural, equine, commercial and industrial post frame and/or steel buildings.
Strictly adheres to all Corporate and OSHA safety regulations.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of construction practices and procedures.
Suggests changes to your immediate supervisor in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of plant, department, or construction crew.
Inspects and/or inventories building materials as directed by crew foreman.
Learns to perform all activities of crew personnel positions.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Some of the physical requirements will be, but not limited to, the following: Climbing up and down on step ladders, extension ladders, and building framing; regularly lift materials weighing 50-75lbs and occasionally lift up to 120lbs (which may require a team lift); and run power tools and equipment (training will be provided).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
