Pro-Line can be trusted to make the building experience satisfying
and rewarding. With Pro-Line…the options are endless.
Dreams really do come true. Just ask Jim and Barb Vander Beek, owners of the Pro-Line Building Company in New Sharon. What began as a dream in their home office several years ago has grown to be one of the most successful businesses in Mahaska County today.
Pro-Line specializes in pre-engineered wood frame buildings as well as Butler and Chief steel frame buildings. Pro-Line is especially proud of its own line of wood frame buildings which offer customers unlimited options in choosing the type of construction to meet their every need. Last year Pro-Line built residential and commercial buildings; horse facilities; storage and warehouse buildings; and agricultural structures. They partner with Butler Building Systems and Chief Buildings, designing sophisticated steel structural buildings especially for larger commercial projects.
As the company continued its pattern of growth, management worked hard to continue its promise of quality and excellence to its customers. The Sales Team focused on breaking all sales goals. The Strategic Planning Team addressed future management methods and the Office Team tended to all aspects of the business. Everyone on the Pro-Line Team joined forces to make 2006 a banner year – and everyone is looking forward to breaking all records for 2007!
Corporate training was also implemented as, “Pro-Line’s Ladder to Success” training program was launched. A sales specific training program, “IMPACT Sales” also commenced. Between the two, all Office Staff and Sales Staff participate and will be awarded completion plaques in December, 2006. Early in 2007, training will continue with the second level for both training programs.
The Sales Team, led by Jim VanderBeek, includes Mack VanderBeek, Scot Bokhoven, Ken Van Kooten, and Ron Nunnikhoven. They broke all records in sales by turning in over ten million dollars by year-end. Although the main office is located in New Sharon, Pro-Line Buildings are sold throughout South Central Iowa, including greater Des Moines and Cedar Rapids areas.

Pro-Line applied for and was awarded with the prestigious National Frame Builder’s Association Accredited Post-Frame Builder Certification. This program is a national accreditation program designed to publicly recognize and honor post-frame builders that have demonstrated their commitment to professionalism and quality in key areas of corporate responsibility: ethical business practices, safety, and education.
Pro-Line was also awarded the esteemed “2005 Industry of the Year Award” from the Oskaloosa Area Chamber and Development Group. The Oskaloosa Chamber defines this award as the most outstanding industry in the Mahaska community during the year. The criteria that Pro-Line met in order to receive this award was that it was a Mahaska County Industry; it had a stable employment history; it was an established business for a minimum of two years; and it demonstrated commitment and contribution to the community and a commitment to sound management practices.
Pro-Line also shows its product at various local and statewide tradeshows. They show annually at the Home and Garden Show at Vets Auditorium and the Iowa Horse Fair at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. They also had a booth at the Iowa State Fair this past year and at the Farm Progress Show! They continue to expand their attendance at many local county fairs.
